St. John's Mercy Corporate Health

Exams

The performance of physical exams as related to employment provides an important role in assuring fitness for duty, and in the management of workers’ compensation and disability claims. St. John’s Mercy Corporate Health provides physical examination services to meet this need and in addition, we feature several examination protocols for workers in specialty occupations:

  • Physical exams for employment
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals
  • OSHA regulated exams
  • Respirator fitness
  • Fit for duty (and evaluation of an employee’s ability to perform the physical duties of their job)

A physician will carefully review a patient’s medical and occupational history before proceeding with the physical examination. A thorough medical examination will include at least the following:

  • Complete occupational/medical history
  • Musculoskeletal examination
  • Evaluation of the respiratory system
  • Examination of head, eyes, ears, nose, and throat
  • Skin and lymphatic examination
  • Neurological evaluation
  • Evaluation of the cardiovascular system
  • Visual acuity and vital signs, including blood pressure, and urine dip test

St. John’s Mercy Corporate Health provides exams our locations throughout greater St. Louis or at the workplace. We also can assist with coordination and referrals for physical exam and substance abuse testing throughout the country.
